My decision on your petticoat indiscretion

maid marian, I will answer your questions about your petticoat indiscretion which you have raised in your last blog entry.

First of all, you are quite correct in saying that "nothing escapes the eagle eye of Mistress Adira". I did notice your lack of petticoat under your maid's uniform.

My main reason for not making a comment at the time was because I had to think about whether it classified as a punishable offence in view of the instructions I had given you which was: "you may choose whichever uniform you wish to wear for Sunday, bearing in mind it will be the same uniform you wear on Tuesday night for your cleaning duties at My dungeon." I also mentioned separately that you must have both your 3" heels and your 4" heels with you.

My dilemma was:
  1. At no point did I specify that your petticoat was a compulsory part of your uniform;
  2. you were given open ended instructions to wear a uniform of your choice.
Technically, your instructions could be interpreted as complete freedom of choice in which case you could rightly choose not to wear a petticoat on that occasion.

I now see the problem this has created and the unecessary worry it has unduly caused My maid.

My decision is NOT to punish you as your instructions were too ambiguous to warrant punishment.

I shall use this opportunity to clarify your "maid's uniform" so that such confusion will not occur again. From now on your maid's uniform will ALWAYS consist of:
  • Maid's uniform
  • Petticoat
  • Apron or pinafore
  • Maid's cap
  • Stockings or pantyhose
  • Shoes - 3" heels or 4" heels or 5" heels
  • Posture collar (except with high neck maid's uniform)
  • Lacy wrist bands (except with long sleeved maid's uniform)
I trust you are now clear on this matter and a repeat of this mistake will be punishable in the future.
